93.7 The Ticket Under New Local Ownership

BDP Communications announced that it has completed the asset purchase of 93.7 The Ticket FM (KNTK) and www.theticketfm.com from Home Field Communications. BDP Communications had been programmers at the station under a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) since June 1 of this year.

BDP Communications is a Nebraska Limited Liability Company (LLC) established for managing the ownership of KNTK(FM) 93.7, The Ticket, and to provide consulting services, podcast and radio production, digital marketing and sports content to the local market and especially diverse businesses. BDP Communications is led by Rebecca and Derrick Pearson. The Pearsons are retaining the format of The Ticket, offering local sports talk radio and digital streaming to the Lincoln area and sports fans nationally. In fact, on August 16th, they added 5 hours of live local sports programming to fill a much need gap in the market from 8am to11am with popular hosts Connor Happer and Mike Schaefer, and to broaden the athletic coverage beyond football. Their programming will bring more in-depth discussions with coaches, student athletes and business owners and will have more extensive engagement with the local community through remote broadcasting and more local guests.

Derrick Pearson had been the host of The DP & Stephens Show on 93.7 The Ticket FM since January 2019 and now is the host from 3pm to 6pm of One-on-One with DP and Old School with Jay Foreman, former Husker and Hall of Fame inductee and NFL pro athlete. Prior to coming to Lincoln, Derrick spent 30 years on TV and radio in Washington DC, Charlotte, NC and Salt Lake City, UT, completed two TEDx talks and is a published author in the recently launched Amazon Best Seller Impact of Influence. Rebecca and Derrick recently relocated to Lincoln from Houston, Texas where Rebecca stepped down from her long-time management and marketing corporate career at Exxon Mobil Corporation. Rebecca is currently the President of WEConnect International in Washington, DC, which focuses on gender inclusive sourcing practices with some of the largest and most prestigious corporations and multilaterals in the world

“We have made Lincoln, Nebraska our home after having lived on the East Coast, in Belgium, Salt Lake City and Houston. Our desire is to give a voice to honest and truthful views of local Lincoln men’s and women’s sport programs, as well as to expose our listeners to new and exciting sports, news, and content,” said Rebecca Pearson. “We believe the sports news/talk format allows the ecosystem of fans, athletes, parents, educators, coaches and owners a platform to have honest and real conversations regarding the issues facing the sports community and world.” added Derrick Pearson.
