TeamMates “Teams Up” with 93.7 The Ticket to Amplify Mentorship Opportunities

LINCOLN, Nebraska, September 18, 2024 – Derrick Pearson, Co-Owner of 93.7 The Ticket, announced a partnership with TeamMates Mentoring to launch a multichannel initiative aimed at expanding awareness for the program, which serves thousands of young adults across the Midwest.

Starting with a new weekly show, TeamMates Timeout with DeMo & Ash, airing 5-6 p.m. Central Time, the program will feature key voices including TeamMates CEO DeMoine Adams and Marketing & Communications Manager Ashton Honnor. They will be joined by leaders from the National TeamMates Office to share inspiring stories and promote the program’s impact. The show will also highlight the importance of mentorship throughout the year with continued support from 93.7 The Ticket in other sports programming through sponsorships and advertising.

Pearson, with his background in speaking and coaching, will lend focus to recruiting mentors to fill a need. Pearson said, “The need for male mentors is at an all-time high, with too many young adults on waiting lists. We want to be the bridge for adults to get in front of those young people and help potential mentors realize how easy it is to make a difference with just a one-hour weekly commitment.”

To further support the effort,” The Ticket will support employees who become mentors by granting extra time off for mentoring activities. Listeners who sign up to mentor will also be invited to share their experiences on the DP 1-on-1 show”, said Pearson.

DeMoine Adams, CEO of TeamMates, emphasized the importance of male mentors, saying, “When TeamMates was originally started in 1991, there was a need to provide more positive male role models to young men. Although the need has expanded to serve all students, our male/female mentee ratio is 35/65. Young men like my 13-year-old son would love to be in TeamMates, but we don’t have enough men stepping up to use their role to be a positive role model. The need for male mentors is still true 33 years later.

“We are excited to partner with 93.7 The Ticket to share the TeamMates mission of positively impacting the world by inspiring students to reach their full potential through mentoring,” said TeamMates Marketing & Communications Manager Ashton Honnor. “The Ticket platform affords us the opportunity to communicate the need for mentors and giving the gift of one’s time through mentoring.”

Listeners can tune in live to TeamMates Timeout with DeMo & Ash starting October 1st, from 5-6 p.m. Central Time on the 93.7 The Ticket App, station or watch live streams on X, Facebook, YouTube, and Allo Channel 962. Alternatively, listeners can find the show recorded on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Prime Music and other major podcast platforms.
