Nebraska isnt doing anything differently to prepare for cold weather… should they though?

-Troy Walters and Ryan Held both said on Wednesday that they aren’t doing anything different in practices to prepare for a potentially very cold game on Saturday; but P.J. Fleck says he has his guys putting his hands in freezing cold water and more to prepare for the weather

-Held mentioned that it’s been a rule going all the way back to the Solich days that RBs don’t wear sleeves no matter how cold the weather is (can’t feel the football properly that way)

Troy Walters says this week is ‘get back’ week for Nebraska…is Northwestern a team that you can rely on getting back on track against?

-Northwestern’s defense has been strong as usual this year (except for that weird game they gave up 31 points to Michigan State), but it’s not a game that you really expect to score a lot of points in

-To what extent can Nebraska’s offense ‘get back’ this week? Northwestern has a pretty good rush defense, as we saw last week against Wisconsin…

We talked about Nebraska needing to spread the ball out more, but is it time to give the ball MORE to Wan’Dale Robinson?

-Troy Walters mentioned on Wednesday that Wan’Dale is getting more carries as a running back in addition to wide receiver; Scott Frost also said on Thursday that they need to get him the ball more

-We’ve mentioned the need to get the ball to more WRs, as Spielman/Wan’Dale have all but one catch for WRs this season…but is it time to unleash Wan’Dale more and let him be special like Rondale Moore?

Nebraska’s wide receiver situation has been bizarre for the first 14 games of the Scott Frost tenure

-Jake went back on the 2017 season stats for Scott Frost at UCF, and it was common for 7 to 9 players to catch receptions in the offense from McKenzie Milton. That was Year 2 for Frost at UCF. Why aren’t we seeing anything near that now? The ball gets spread out nowhere near that level

-Is Nebraska not running enough quick hitter routes? Walters wants more WRs involved this week, but why has it taken 14 games to get that mentality? Is this personnel capable?

2 Days away from football, two Huskers suspended indefinitely, though

Troy Walters announced Wednesday that WR Andre Hunt and TE Katerion Legrone have been suspended indefinitely from the team. That would explain why Hunt wasn’t on the 2/3 deep at an of the WR spots. Is he a huge loss though? Doesn’t seem like it.

Also, Wan’Dale Robinson is providing ‘wows’ in practice, and no news on Maurice Washington. And how about Chris Hickman making a move at TE.

Troy Walters and Erik Chinander both show up in Bruce Feldman’s Top 40 assistant coaches to watch in 2019…how long can Frost keep this all together?

-Feldman had Walters and Chinander among his Top 40 in an article on The Athletic, and the more Nebraska gets talked about and the more they back it up, their staff is going to become hot names in conversations for other big jobs elsewhere

-Frost lost the first member of his staff that he brought over from UCF in the offseason with Mike Dawson leaving for the NFL, and he was replaced by Tony Tuioti from Cal, who seems like a pretty good fit so far. How long will the rest of it all stay together, though?

-Also, Jahkeem Green officially clears paperwork to come to Nebraska, we’ll see him midweek
