How much will (likely) not having the Spring Game and spring practices halt Nebraska’s growth for the Fall football season?

-It’s inevitable that there will be no Spring Game, and probably no spring practices. Wonderful. Just what this program needs right now.

-To be fair, it does affect every university (likely). But many programs don’t have as important of years as Nebraska does this year. Think about how much more important the season comes for fans if there are no sports at all leading up to it…the people will be STARVING for sports and success, at that

What needs to happen in Spring football to generate more excitement for the Spring Game?

-Tickets are selling, but not at the same level as years past for the April 18th final spring exhibition. Is there anything that can happen during the spring that can elevate your interest, or is your patience already extended to the max?

-Will you believe what coaches are saying about players making big strides during spring practice or are you at the point where you just don’t know what to believe anymore?

The Drive: February 27th, 5pm

  • Spring Game tickets are not going quite as quickly as the last two years, predictably so
  • 247Sports ranked the Big Ten quarterbacks and Adrian Martinez is in a spot we actually agree with

Discussing ways to improve the spring game

-Tying up last segment’s discussion on Kobe King.

-The Journal Star reported that spring game tickets are being bought, but not quite at the rate of previous years. We’ve already addressed questions about level of interest here in the spring game this year, in general

-Would it ever be possible to have a spring exhibition against another team? Would that be of interest to the fans and other schools? One definite negative would be that someone would have to travel here, which takes away their spring game…but maybe look at schools that aren’t drawing well for their own spring practice/game?

Early Break: The amount of people not from Nebraska who are salty about our Spring Game attendance is hilarious

  • Nebraska once again led the nation attendance for the spring game with more than 85,000 in attendance, and when people tweeted out the numbers, many people from other fan bases were quick to point out, “what else is there to do in Nebraska?” Because THAT’S always the jealous fan’s go to line..
