How much will (likely) not having the Spring Game and spring practices halt Nebraska’s growth for the Fall football season?

-It’s inevitable that there will be no Spring Game, and probably no spring practices. Wonderful. Just what this program needs right now.

-To be fair, it does affect every university (likely). But many programs don’t have as important of years as Nebraska does this year. Think about how much more important the season comes for fans if there are no sports at all leading up to it…the people will be STARVING for sports and success, at that

How long can a season not be played before it’s canceled?

-College baseball announced the season won’t be played going forward, including the College World Series. But MLB is not committing to canceling the season…but it sounds like we won’t see anything until May at the earliest

-What if it goes beyond May? How long can you go before the season is not salvageable? Same for NBA…and don’t you dare let this slip into football season…

March Madness is March Sadness: There will be no NCAA Tournament this year..and no College World Series

-F*** you, Coronavirus. The sports world is dead as we know it, with everything in sight being canceled or suspended until further notice. March Madness is no longer for the year, and the economy will suffer because of it, and so will everyone’s lives who are improved by the glorious tournament

-Who do you feel worst for this year’s tourney? Rutgers? Seton Hall? Creighton? Dayton? What a rough thing…Nebraska chose a good year to be bad

-Also…Omaha is screwed. Think about how much money they thought they’d bring in from the NCAA Tourney first 2 rounds and also College World Series…yiiiiiiiiiiiikes.

Listener reaction to another rough week of performances for Sip in ‘Shut Up Sipple’

  • Another loss results in another 1-4 week for Sip, and the critics are getting loud. How will he bounce back in the coming weeks?
  • Also, Jake is going to Vegas this weekend…will he be the same person when he comes back?

  • Nebrasketball is 3-0 in Italy….how should we breakdown their exhibition slate so far?
  • When you see Creighton struggling in these exhibition games and Minnesota, too, does that mean anything for Nebraska fans to try and see where their team is at in comparison?
  • Baz is a big fan of Hootie and the Blowfish just like Jake…why can’t Sip appreciate the music?

Is it fair to expect a 1,000 yard rusher and 1,000 receiver every year going forward in the Frost era?

  • First off, is that completely necessary? Is it better to have one elite receiver who gets ALL the targets, or a group of pretty dang good receivers who are all putting up good stats, but not massive stats?
  • Now, back to the initial question. Last year, in Frost’s first year, Nebraska had a 1,000 yard rusher (Ozibgo) and a 1,000 yard receiver for first time in school history (Morgan). Even though that was the first time ever here, is it wrong for us to expect this offense to produce the same kind of stats yearly?

The Yankees and White Sox are set to play at the Field of Dreams location in Iowa next season

  • Dyersville, Iowa, is the location of the Field of Dreams from the popular baseball movie of the past…they’ll build a temporary 8,000 seat stadium for the game to happen…small crowd! Cool concept?

Interesting odds projections put Nebraska as a bigger favorite in more games and an underdog in only ONE game

SuperBook USA listed Nebraska with bigger margins of favorites in games against Purdue (-4), Wisconsin (-5), and Iowa (-7), but now a 6-point underdog to Ohio State. They really think Nebraska is going 11-1?

How much does ‘good’ Nebraska help the B1G’s brand and college football?

  • Nebraska has been a punching bag for a long time now, and it appears that time is ending. We know how important locally it is for Nebraskans when the team is back, but what is the impact nationally? Do you think the nation is excited to see a blueblood that’s fallen off potentially on their way back up, and back up soon? Has Michigan’s revival been met with happiness or resentment?
  • If Nebraska is in the Big Ten Championship, what kind of ratings would that get nationally?
  • And, Sip gives his official projections for the upcoming season, and there are some surprises…
