The Drive: January 18th, 4pm – Tennessee fires Jeremy Pruitt and AD Phil Fulmer retires

  • 8 of the 14 coaches at the 2019 SEC Media Days have been fired. Don’t forget that Pruitt was hired the same offseason as Scott Frost, and fired with a better record and a bowl appearance
  • 3 of the 8 coaches hired in 2018 have been fired, and Scott Frost is only 2 wins ahead of Chip Kelly from being last in wins among coaches still employed at their universities
  • Is Tennessee a good job?

  • SEC is cancelling games, could they get the CFP committee to push back selection day and the games?

What a fun weekend it was for college football…offenses were booming and big wins were had

-Does the SEC play defense anymore? LSU had another hideous defensive performance in a loss against Missouri (Hey, Bo!); Alabama and Ole Miss are still scoring points at the moment, and Sip’s boy JIMBO got a big, big win against Dan Mullen, who wants 90,000 fans in the stands next week at home!

-Also, Clemson takes care of Miami, Mike Leach has lost his offense already, an EPIC Red River Rivalry ends in an Oklahoma win, and how about Kansas State and Iowa State…the teams to beat in Big 12?

29 games tomorrow in college football with the SEC’s return to play…does your interest level turn up a notch more?

-Some people have been slow to get back into watching college football with only 2 of the Power 5 conferences playing the first few weeks…and now the SEC is starting on Saturday

-Jake did some research and found that of the 29 games this Saturday, only 6 of those games will be without fans at all. There are also 4 games that are postponed for Saturday due to COVID (Notre Dame vs. Wake Forest being the biggest of those games)..if we see over the next month that the SEC doesn’t have bad breakouts, would the Big Ten change their decision for fans or not?
