It’s not 4/20 without a good pot story, right? How about pot-infused pizza in California!

-Stoney Slice has been operating for 8 months in California—sketchily—and putting 30 mg of THC into their pizzas

-The whole operation is sketchy, but there are some great quotes from the owner of it in a recent LA Times story

-Another addition for Nebrasketball with Keon Edwards…what’s the scoop?

-What’s the percentage chances of either Thor or Shamiel Stevenson coming back? Do they want either back?

-Jake thinks Nebrasketball should go into this year expecting to beat Creighton, who lost all 5 starters. Is he crazy or spot on?

Does the potential success of the receiving corps come down to if Omar Manning is as good as advertised?

-The wide receivers look better and bigger than last year, which brings optimism. We’re optimistic about Samori Toure, Zavier Betts, and Oliver Martin..and possibly Levi Falck and Alante Brown, among others

-But if these WRs are truly to become a great unit that’s reliable, makes tough catches, and gets some separation…does it all come down to Manning to be the true separator of an average unit to a really good unit? And where do the TEs fit in that conversation?

Alex Smith announced yesterday he is retiring from the NFL…his comeback won’t be forgotten

-Smith led the WFT last year to playoffs in his 16th year, and earned Comeback Player of the Year after a terrible leg injury that almost lost him his leg…but he has etched his name in the history books for what he did to come back and be effective….also, Husker volleyball played Texas yesterday..

Rick Kaczenski (Former Nebraska/Iowa DL coach)

-Sip is high on the WRs after seeing practice on Saturday…when do you know if you for sure have a good cast of guys?

-What is the ceiling of a defense that doesn’t have a dominant pass rusher but is pretty good everywhere else?

-How aggressive with a starting QB can you be if your backups are all young and inexperienced?

If you have one choice, which is more important for Nebraska football this year: a reliable backup QB, or a dominant pass-rusher?

-Your first instinct at the question is to laugh, and say OBVIOUSLY you choose a dominant pass rusher

-But take a step back and think about it for a second. Nebraska’s defense SHOULD be pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. A dominant pass rusher could make them really good.

-But…..if Adrian Martinez gets hurt, and you don’t have a reliable backup QB, it makes defense pretty dang important, and puts the offense way back…if you have a reliable backup QB, you can have a decent defense without having to be great….
