We’ll get a tiny look at Nebraska basketball today
Nate Clouse: HuskerOnline
Wing Man
-Jake and Sip both showed up last year to a Creighton Prep/Lincoln North Star game to watch Akol Arop play Donovan Williams—2 Nebraska signees. Now there are 3 players from one high school that are considered Division 1 worthy…are they worth the trip up to Millard to watch?
-Also, SONG OF THE DAY:
-247 Sports lists Wan’Dale Robinson, Darien Chase, Jackson Hannah, Garrett Nelson, and Myles Farmer as true freshmen who could come in right away and play significant minutes for Nebraska and avoid a redshirt…do you agree with those guys, and are there any possible other players to look at?
-Also, Fred Hoiberg tweets out that Nebrasketball will have an open scrimmage event to the public on Friday, September 27th….the day before the Ohio State football game, and there will be a musical act there TBA….big event? Any guesses on who might show up for music?
-Which 3 guys would Schaefer say he is the most intrigued/hopeful for on Nebrasketball in 2019-20?
-What happens now through Media Days?
-The season is still months away, but we’ll learn more about the team when they travel to Italy, which just had the schedule announced on Wednesday
-There are lots of new pieces, and even pieces that were here last year that we haven’t seen yet…who are Sip and Jake’s top 3 guys they are intrigued/hopeful for the most?
Giannis wins MVP, Doncic wins ROY, both are from overseas- Is the NBA becoming more of an international league?

-It seems impossible at a place that just went 20 years between drafted players to the NBA. But can you see a time (very) soon where Nebrasketball isn’t a stranger in the NBA Draft and has guys playing in the league consistently?
-Also, Fred Hoiberg lays out his projected strength of this team, being a ‘driving downhill and getting to the rim’ type of team. What guys fit that bill the best on this roster? Who is gonna get the playing time?
-Also, Mike Riley keeps getting jobs—now in the XFL as Seattle’s offensive coordinator!
Isiah Roby drafted 45th overall to the Mavericks

Is Jakeem Green looking elsewhere?
Did Nebraska miss out on Lok Wur?

–Boston FINALLY loses a championship
-Nor should it be—Nebraska was a team last year that was ranked in the preseason rankings and was aiming for big goals in what would end up being Tim Miles’ last season—this season, however, is full of new everything; new coaching staff, tons of new players, new strategy. It’d be tough to really schedule anything great
-Many people are already talking about how the opponents have a low NET ranking, as in Nebraska should be hoping to make the NCAA Tournament or something. What should the expectation be in Year 1? Isn’t this the way they should craft the non-conference schedule, or should it have had more ‘oomph’?
-Also—quick reminder that Nebraska’s 2020 class is currently No. 9 in the nation…whoa
Nebraska Baseball wins its first round game to enter the winners bracket of the regionals
