Are we selling Scott Frost’s Nebraska program too short as we prepare for the season?

-Frost has had only 9 wins in his 2 years so far, but some people’s outlook for Nebraska this year seems like something you might see at Rutgers, Illinois, or other bottom-feeder schools

-Why shouldn’t people believe a leap in Year 3 is possible for Nebraska? Why do people believe this team might not improve this year?

Where is the hype in Husker Nation?

-Husker Kool-Aid Levels seem lower than normal this season. What is the biggest reason for that?  @HuskersGameday

-Why 4-4 could be a major improvement this season. 5-3 could be borderline top  6-2 is best case scenario…Nebraska fans still know good football if they see it

The Drive: August 15th, 3pm

  • Husker Kool-Aid yacht…when do we get on?
  • Chris Heady (Omaha World Herald)
  • What’s Poppin’ (brought to you by Barney Insurance)

Early Break: How much Kool-Aid are Husker fans drinking?

  • If we put the line at Nebraska going 8-4 this year, would more people lean toward 9-3 / better, or 7-5 /worse?
  • Jake has heard from a lot of people regarding his cynicism/realism regarding the preseason rankings so far this year, and just wants to get a fair representation from the listeners about where they are closer to. If the win total was put at 8, or just simply put an 8-4 record, would you learn toward guessing this team goes under that, at 7-5; or over it, at 9-3 or better?
  • This will help tell us where people locally stand vs. those nationally. If the majority say 9-3 is more likely than 7-5, than maybe Jake is reading the people wrong. But he’s not sure he is.

The Drive: May 9th, 5pm

  • What is your Kool-Aid status right now
  • Sean Callahan (Husker Online)
  • Wrap things up

Early Break: Do you feel yourself starting to become less cynical with Nebraska athletics or are you still skeptical?

  • We are still seeing people on the text line and Twitter saying to stop drinking the Kool-Aid, and that’s fair, since football went 4-8 last year and basketball might have a rough first year with so much to replace
  • But this place has been full of a lot of people sarcastically saying, ‘next year,’ in all sports. People thought we kept showing up for games in sports and just going in circles of mediocrity. Do you still feel cynical until you see the results or do you feel like you believe in this place becoming elite in the main programs?

Early Break: More from Hoiberg press conference…can/should this be a quick rise for Nebrasketball under Hoiberg?

  • Nebraska will have to fill some spots, with 3 seniors departed (Palmer, Watson, Copeland), a transfer of Thomas Allen (and potentially Nana Akenten), and a potential NBA departure for Isaiah Roby. But Bill Moos and Hoiberg both believe this program can and should be in the upper-half of the conference. Do you agree with what Hoiberg said for what that expectation should be?
  • Are you drinking the Kool-Aid?
