Update on Huskers in the NFL

  • Luke Gifford and Andy Janovich suffer injuries in the preseason.
  • Jake and Sip wonder what Devine Ozigbo and Stanley Morgan could’ve been with four years under Scott Frost.

  • How do you describe the vibe within the staff and players so far at Huskers Fall Camp compared to last year?
  • Brent asked Greg Austin the other day about his thoughts on two-a-days practices and if the wishes they would come back, and he had interesting comments…what did Brent takeaway from that?
  • HUSKER VOLLEYBALL! No Mikaela Foecke or Kenzie Maloney due to graduation…can they find their way back to the Final Four again?

Scott Frost says wide receiver is a place where they feel better than last year…is that really possible?

  • He knows that Stanley Morgan is now a Cincinnati Bengal now, right? He’s not a Husker anymore…how could Nebraska really be better?
  • Well—maybe he’s not wrong. More experience for guys like Mike Williams and Jaron Woodyard, plus the reliable JD Spielman, electrifying Wan’Dale Robinson, the veteran Kanawai Noa, and the potential breakout in Andre Hunt….maybe he’s on to something here

Jake went to Vegas this weekend…what were his impressions of the city?

  • First of all, let’s be thankful that he made it back—not always the case in Vegas. Does he advise Sip to make an appearance to the Sin City? Favorite things he did…?

Sip said Ryan Held was last year’s top assistant coach for Nebraska football…who might win that title this year?

It was part of the Journal Star’s postseason awards, and Held got the honor for his work with Devine Ozigbo and Maurice Washington. Is there a leader this year for most likely candidate to me the top assistant? Travis Fisher? Mario Verduzco? It’s always a good thing when there are options…

Scott Frost says Nebraska’s practices might be TOO physical right now? All of Husker nation weeps in joy

Frost said on Friday there is conversation about dialing it back in practice to make sure guys don’t get anything tweaked at all and that they are going to have more “good on good” in practices…are all in unison on this being good, or are there people out there who want practices to be toned down to avoid injury? Very unlikely that many feel it needs to be toned down…
