To no one’s surprise, Scott Frost doesn’t name a QB for tomorrow’s game yet….if it’s Luke McCaffrey, though, what’s our expectation for him?

-A win is the expectation, of course, and the hope for a team that’s lost 7 of 8 games. But can he provide an instant spark? Can Nebraska go score an opening drive TD like they did against Ohio State?

-The more important question is if they can consistently move the ball and score. Can Luke have a better red zone showing than Adrian if he is the starter? It wasn’t great for him against Northwestern…what about now?

-More from Scott Frost on Thursday’s Zoom….

BetOnline.ag puts Nebraska’s win total at 5 for 2020 in a 9 game schedule…you’d take that and run, right?

-Let’s clarify; you’d take that result if they did end up at 5-4 on the year with the schedule they have. The likely bet will be on the under for that 5 win projection, right? Seems like 4 or 4.5 would be more reasonable than 5

-That would have Nebraska right in the middle of the pack in the Big Ten, along with Iowa at 5 wins and behind Indiana at 5.5 wins, but ahead of Northwestern, Purdue, Illinois, Michigan St, Maryland, and Rutgers

-What is a reasonable over/under for Nebraska with the current schedule circumstances?

Early Break: Has the B1G started to level out in terms of strength of divisions?

  • The past years, the East was a beast—Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and Michigan State all beat up on each other, and the division was perceived not only as the best in the conference—but one of the best in the nation.
  • Urban Meyer is now gone at Ohio State, Michigan State has no QB, Penn State has lost star power the past 2 years in Barkley/McSorley, and Michigan is good but not great. Meanwhile, Minnesota and Nebraska are on the uptick in the West, and Nebraska/Wisconsin/Northwestern all have exciting young QBs, and Purdue/Iowa still have capable offense/teams
