-So…the B1G isn’t very good this year, eh? And more devastation for Nebraska.

-Who pissed off Schaefer this weekend in the sports world?

It doesn’t seem like you can just ‘fix’ the offensive line or special teams / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-We’re to the point where you have to wonder if this was all looking like glaring issues in the fall for practices…or is just a game problem?

-Also, Jake must give the U.S.A. a big shoutout for the ass-kicking of the Europeans in the Ryder Cup

Nebraska’s not a bad football team but can’t win close games…where do we go from here?

-There HAS to be a breakout coming soon, right? They are so close, and they say it, and they prove it on the field, but just make one too many mistakes

-This team could pretty easily be 4-1, but sits at 2-3, in a year where they are desperate to make a bowl game

-What happens when they get the breakthrough? Or is it not possible for this team?

The B1G West is officially very mediocre at best…what a bad weekend

-Wisconsin went from a 3-point lead early 4th quarter to getting blown out, 41-13, by Notre Dame, with 2 late pick 6s from Graham Mertz (4 INTs on the day, total) leading to the blowout score

-Also…what the hell, Minnesota? The Gophers came in as a 31.5 point favorite over visiting Bowling Green…and they lost 14-10. Tanner Morgan was 5/13 for 59 yards and 2 INTs, 0 TDs.

Nebraska snatches defeat from the jaws of victory once again, in a baffling loss to Michigan State on the road

-Nebraska had their fair share of problems with o-line protection and what not during the game, but still had a 20-13 lead with just under 4 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. Then…Daniel Cerni punted to the wrong side of the field, Michigan State ran it back for a TD, and momentum was gone, and was lost in OT

-This team is not bad. That’s what is frustrating. They are showing they are certainly a good enough team to contend in the B1G. But they sit at 0-2 with 2 baffling losses

-You fix one part of special teams, and then one other part of it implodes. Amazing.

Michigan State doesn’t give the ball away to opponents—can Nebraska’s defense take it from them?

-So far, Payton Thorne has 9 TDs and 0 INTs through 3 games. Pretty dang good. The Spartans haven’t thrown an INT as a whole team and have 2 fumbles lost total, while they’ve taken away 3 INTs and 2 fumbles defensively

-Nebraska’s defense has played well but had no forced turnovers last week. Can they do it now?

-More importantly, can Nebraska play a CLEANER game than a B1G opponent?

Let’s take a quick peek around the B1G…what’s of interest this weekend?

-Nebraska/Michigan State is certainly the most important game here, but Jake is really curious about Rutgers/Michigan. The Wolverines probably win, but we’ll see how far Greg Schiano’s squad has come…remember, they lost to Michigan in 3 OTs last year!

-How about Wisconsin/Notre Dame? Could the Badgers fall to 1-2?

Michigan State’s pass defense is vulnerable so far…is that the way Nebraska will scheme to beat them?

-Notice that Michigan State is 3-0 still despite being more vulnerable against the pass instead of the run…and they’ve won their games handily

-Miami had nearly 400 passing yards on 59 attempts and just 52 rushing yards in a 21 point loss. Is this proof you need to commit to the run or take what the defense gives you in passing?

-Also, Frost comments from yesterday in his post-practice press conference…
