Happer & Schaefer: September 13th – The Florida State losing radio call, opening lines, and more

  • You have to hear the FSU radio call as the ‘Noles were upset by Jacksonville State
  • Nebraska a 23 point underdog to OU.

A big fight within the New York Giants training camp caused quite the stir

-Apparently, the majority of the team was in a fight with starting QB Daniel Jones at the bottom of the dogpile, and that got head coach Joe Judge pissed off

-The team did sprints and push-ups for a while after it…does that work at the NFL level?

Anonymous B1G coaches talked about all teams in the conference, and nothing really was glowing of Nebraska at all

-Athlon Sports conducted the anonymous conversations about the B1G teams, and all 5 comments on Nebraska were less than glowing. We know Sip hates anonymous sources, so he probably hates this to begin with. But it’s still something

-Among the things said were a lack of offensive identity, less-than-stellar passing ability for Adrian Martinez, and something isn’t matching up in the program

A Big 12 and Pac-12 alliance? Clemson and Florida State to the SEC? Just another day of madness in conference realignment Rumorville

-The Athletic announced yesterday that Bob Bowlsby was meeting with the Pac-12 to discuss the possibility of a scheduling alliance, merger, or other ways for the conferences to work together

-And then there’s the rumors about Clemson and Florida State sniffing around the SEC, and possibly Michigan and Ohio State, too. Where does the B1G stand in all of this?

-The other day it was mentioned that Colorado could be a fit for the B1G…but is Kevin Warren’s ‘leadership’ going to sink the conference or not?

An 8th grader from Norris has committed to Florida State to play baseball…yep, 8TH GRADER

-Kale Fountain became the 2nd (!) commit to the 2024 class for Florida State, after coaches had seen him play in summer league games over the past few years that has seen him travel down South. Fountain’s dad said that Kale always wanted to play baseball in college where it’s warm, so no Nebraska for him

-How early is TOO early to offer someone? We’ve seen it all the way down to 6th grade in football in the past…can you properly evaluate a player going into high school like this? Florida State is an excellent baseball program, too…

Which new hire in college football this month has the best chance to succeed?

-Sip will be hard-pressed to not choose Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, and he’s certainly a good option. But Jake and Sip haven’t really discussed some of these hires….Mike Norvell at Florida State…Clay Helton stays at USC…what hires do we like and which don’t we like?
