Early Break: Tua Tagovailoa opens as favorite to go No. 1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft

  • The ‘Tank for Tua’ conversation has been pretty common among NFL franchise, especially Jake’s Dolphins. And although Tua does seem like a better QB than other ‘Bama QBs recently, can you REALLY trust him in the NFL? Jake doesn’t quite buy into the hype…what about Sip?
  • Tagovailoa opens as 3/1 odds to go first overall (by Westgate Superbook), followed by Georgia’s Jake Fromm and Oregon’s Justin Herbert, who are both 7/1 odds. ‘Suck for Luck’ was a popular thing for Andrew Luck…would you be comfortable with your franchise tanking to get Tua?

Early Break: Who has the more successful NFL career of this Husker draft class: Devine Ozigbo, Stanley Morgan…or someone else?

  • It’s important to remember that although getting drafted is very helpful in latching on with a team, it doesn’t mean you’ll stick around for a long time; some very successful players have been undrafted and have had long careers. So although Ozigbo and Morgan aren’t perceived as top-end elite players, everything can change once you just find a team
  • Ozigbo, Morgan, Luke Gifford, and Tanner Farmer are the main guys with chances to get drafted…which of those guys will have the most success? And to what degree?

Cyza & Stephens: April 19th, 1pm

  • Crawford v Khan, NBA Playoffs – who ya got?

Early Break: Stanley Morgan does well at the Combine, but Iowa’s Noah Fant once again slaps Nebraska with a great showing

  • Morgan ran a 4.53 (not in the top 15 of WRs), did 14 reps of 225lbs on bench, but his 38.5” vertical jump was 7th best out of WRs
  • Meanwhile, Iowa continues to show they are Tight End U, with Noah Fant and TJ Hockenson owning the Combine. Fant, at 249 pounds, ran a 4.51 40-yard-dash (!!) and also had a 39.5” vertical jump and 10’5” broad jump, all which were first out of tight ends. Nebraska missed out badly on an in-state kid there.
  • Other news at the combine
    • Who the guys like and who we might be seeing on Sundays.

Early Break: Jake needs someone to tell him why it’s so important what Kyler Murray’s height, weight, and hand size are

  • The biggest football news of the day on Thursday was that Kyler Murray measured just over 5’10”, weighed 207 pounds, and 9.5” hand size at the NFL Combine.
  • Apparently those measures now make him more of a possibility of a Top 10 pick than what he would be if just under 5’10”, below 207 pounds, and under 9.5” hand size.
  • Do people not realize how ridiculous all of this is?

To stay at Senior Bowl practices or to be with your wife in labor, the answer might surprise you for one player

  • Western Illinois defensive lineman Khalen Saunders is at the Senior Bowl this week in hopes of boosting his NFL draft status, but he was informed early Tuesday that his wife was going into labor—9 days before she was supposed to—and she ended up having the baby on Tuesday night
  • After discussing with his wife though…they both decided it was the right decision for him to stay at the Senior Bowl practices and not be there for the birth. Right call, or crazy?
