  • What if I told you Dedrick Mills would run for 1,000 yards this season?

How much of a leap can we expect from Dedrick Mills this season?

-Mills ran 143 times for 745 yards in 2019 (5.2 ypc), and 10 TDs; a very solid season, but some might expect more. Is he a guy who could breakout like Devine Ozigbo did his senior season?

-A reminder on Ozigbo: His junior year stats were 129 carries for 493 yds (3.8 ypc) and 3 TDs; his senior year exploded for 155 carries, 1082 yards (7.0 ypc) and 12 TDs.

Dedrick Mills as a fullback going forward? Could it be so…

-Frost and Mills spoke on Monday, and there was some agreement that the fullback look that Nebraska showed Mills at against Ohio State for a nice drive in the second quarter could be something we see more often…now that would be intriguing

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY (sponsored by Sartor Hamann Jewelers):

Happiness is seeing Sip talk life with Dedrick Mills, as the infatuation continues

-Mills showed up to media availability on Monday with a football tucked away in his grip, and media (including Sip) wondered why that was the case…and Sip even asked what would happen if he tried to punch the ball out. The love fest continues!!

Maurice Washington once again showed he is Mr. Big Play / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-How good was Maurice on Saturday? Wow. Scott Frost’s offenses live off of big plays, and Maurice delivered multiple times (as did Dedrick Mills with a long 61-yard run)…can we expect these big plays to continue against better teams?

Through two games, it’s pretty evident that Maurice Washington is Nebraska’s best RB / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-Dedrick Mills ran 8 times for 24 yards, and had 2 catches for 21 yards, compared to Washington’s 15 carries for 77 yards, and 4 catches for 112 yards. Washington also has explosion that Mills doesn’t have. Is it clear that Maurice should be the main back, or does Sip think Mills should get more chances?

-Also, it was nice to see Adrian back in the running game again…better than last week…

Andre Hunt and Katerion Legrone suspended indefinitely… how much does this affect the WR/TE rooms if much at all? Are you buying the Chris Hickman hype from yesterday?

More excited to see Dedrick Mills or Wan’Dale Robinson on Saturday or someone else?

How much better do you expect the punt/kick return games to be this year?

Dedrick Mills speaks, is discussed about by teammates, and we’re not sure if Sip will be able to control himself

-Jake wasn’t in the room at the time Mills was talking, but he can only envision what Sip looked like when Mills spoke and when other teammates spoke about Mills….we might have a candidate for new favorite player for Sip when his time at Nebraska is all said and done by the way it sounds..

-Where does he stack up among guys you’re most excited to see on Saturday? 1a/1b with Wan’Dale?

-Maurice Washington’s next hearing pushed back for 3 days after Nebraska’s first game….should Scott Frost play him against South Alabama or not?

-If Washington wouldn’t play, who would you assume gets the carries behind Dedrick Mills?

-What’s a fair expectation for Wan’Dale Robinson in 2019?

Is it fair for us to expect similar numbers for Dedrick Mills this year from what he did at Georgia Tech?

-In Mills’ one year at Georgia Tech, he played 9 games and had 152 rushes for 771 yards and 12 TDs. That averages out to just under 17 rushes per game. Keep in mind, the Yellow Jackets had a heavy option run attack, and that’s not the system at Nebraska now…

-Is he going to be a workhorse type of back? Will he get 20 carries per game? Sip’s pretty confident he will have well over 1,000 yards rushing this year….
