Nicole Griffith (10/11 News sports reporter) – Full Hour

-When did the SEC turn into the Big 12 and Pac-12 with lack of defense? Are you enjoying the high scoring games or miss the lower scoring games with actual defense played?

-Do we think that Big Ten football will look similar to this, with high scoring games and poor defense? Usually, defenses are ahead of offenses for a week or two, but we will see…maybe not this year?

-Are Iowa State and Kansas State the two best teams in the Big 12? Or Oklahoma State…

-Who was Nicole rooting for on Thursday night between her two favorite teams, the Bucs and Bears?

-2 Monday Night Football games tonight AGAIN with Broncos/Patriots and Rams/Saints…who you got?

The environment in Ames, Iowa on Saturday night was something that the Big Ten should be able to have

-Iowa State beat Oklahoma, 37-30, at Jack Trice Stadium to give the Sooners their 2nd straight loss and pushing them now to 1-2 on the season, ahead of the Red River Rivalry this weekend

-The crowd wasn’t to full capacity, but it was loud and it was definitely a part of the game. Saw a good size crowd in Athens, Georgia for the Bulldogs win, also

-Other takeaways from the weekend of college football…

What will/should the College Football Playoff do if the Big Ten can’t get in all of its 9 games per school?

-There’s no room for error with no bye weeks. Ohio State has the talent to be a playoff team and a possible national champion. What happens if they play 6 games total, but win the conference title still, but an SEC team plays 10 games? How do you determine worthiness?

-The main question is how many games do you really need for the ‘eye test’ in a pandemic year in college football. Is there an answer for that question?

Lincoln Riley says Oklahoma won’t be releasing COVID numbers anymore as part of ‘competitive advantage’…is there anything wrong with that or should it be open for all to know?

-This is similar to the difference in Mike Riley and Scott Frost in terms of handling injuries. Mike Riley made it known to ALL who was injured in the days before games, and Frost is the exact opposite

-Should it be different, though, in regards to COVID numbers? The news from Lincoln Riley yesterday was greeted with opposition, in a year where things are all about COVID and if playing is a smart option for college football. Should teams be required to be completely transparent in COVID numbers or is this OK?

Have you decided yet what you’re doing with no Husker football this Saturday when the season is supposed to begin?

-If it hasn’t hit you yet, it’s going to in the next few days. Husker football was supposed to start in 2 days from now. And it won’t be. Jake is going to Colorado to hike in the mountains to try and forget about the pain of no season

-The viewership of the Austin Peay/Central Arkansas game was decent, but not great—but it also wasn’t that big of a game. This weekend’s games also aren’t big, but there are at least more. You getting away for Labor Day weekend or tuning in for any sort of football?

Nicole Griffith (10/11 News sports reporter)

-Did you watch college football on Saturday? Or how about the continued mockery of the Big Ten?

-Lots of local sports media was out at high school games on Thursday and Friday, are you liking the extra attention on everything this year?

-How’s it going to feel this Saturday when we know the first official game that was supposed to be played by Nebraska…won’t be played?

-Has Nicole adopted a team to root for yet this Fall in college football?

-Are Sip and Nicole more pumped for NFL than ever before or the same as usual?

-Still interested in the NBA Playoffs?

-What’s on the agenda this week?

College football was played on Saturday with no problems, and the rest of the world is still laughing at the Big Ten – Part 2

-Yes, this has been our topic of conversation for weeks now. And you know what? It’s not going away. As long as games are played by other schools and other conferences with limited to no issues, it damn well better be the topic of conversation

-Some people think it is still a ‘conspiracy theory’ that this is a political narrative on behalf of the B1G. Jake and Sip think there is no conspiracy about it at all. More stuff over the weekend came out from people like Scott Van Pelt to rip the Big Ten for what they did in postponing the season
