Jake’s jinx of people he roots for continued this weekend at The Open Championship

Speaking of problems, how much could Nebraska have avoided long-sustained issues if they had just beaten Texas in the 2009 Big 12 title game?

-247 Sports wrote about the 10 most controversial games in college football since 2000, and Nebraska showed up twice—for their loss in 2009 to Texas, and their win in 2015 against Michigan State

-Everyone points to the fact that Nebraska hasn’t won conference title since 1999, and man, it would be great to say it’s been 12 years since their last title instead of the current 22 years it’s been..right?

An outsider’s perspective of Nebraska football says the Huskers need to stop running from their problems

-The Oklahoman’s Berry Tramel wrote a great piece on Nebraska over the weekend, and at one point even said what Jake has pretty much said many times: Nebraska looks like they’ve had a lot of regrettable plastic surgery since the good ol’ days

-Tramel also referenced the embarrassment of trying to back out of the Oklahoma game, and pretty much said that the Huskers can’t get out of their own way because they refuse to address any of their issues at great length

ike Schaefer (Nebraska 247 Sports): Part 2 / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-Is there a chance that Logan Smothers is NOT Nebraska’s No. 2 QB? Can’t take a lot away from 30 minutes of practice, but in general..is that a possibility that he is bypassed by Masker or Haarberg?

-Thoughts on Nebrasketball landing a new assistant coach (Nate Loenser), and Husker baseball being first place in the conference so far…

Sip and Jake had eyes on Husker practice on Wednesday, and a few injuries are clouding up the spring session

-Jake and Sip watched practice for 30 minutes yesterday, along with a lot of other media members. They had eyes on the QBs, seeing deep balls attempted by the entire cast of QBs…what else did they see?

-Also, Scott Frost informed the media post-practice that Ben Stille, Markese Stepp and Marques Buford are out for the spring with injuries, but are hopeful to be back by the Fall

-More from Frost and coaches on Wednesday (audio)…

DP & Stephens: Sean Callahan, Husker Online

Husker Online’s Sean Callahan joins Tom and DP to discuss the Huskers, Ben Stille returning and Special Teams.

Defensive players and coaches spoke yesterday after practice…what did we learn with 2.5 weeks to go until game 1?

-Tony Tuioti, Barrett Ruud, Collin Miller, Ben Stille, and Damion Daniels spoke to media yesterday via Zoom to give updates on practice and how things are going

-What stood out to Sip and Jake, if anything? Barrett Ruud asked for consistency with his LBs, which would definitely be a welcome sight. What else was said that was worth discussing?

-Also, the basketball tournament in Lincoln is confirmed with teams like LSU, Nevada, and more coming to town!
