Is it ever OK to unretire a number within an organization? / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-Most people will scoff at the notion and say if it’s retired, leave it alone. There have been a few examples lately that bring it up, though. New Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa wore No. 13 at Alabama, but that number belonged to the great Dan Marino in Miami. Should there be any conversation about that being given to Tua, or does he have to earn it first?

-No. 88 isn’t retired by the Cowboys, but it did belong to Dez Bryant, and now it’s already been given to CeeDee Lamb…some don’t like it, some do. What about at Nebraska with their various numbers?
