Early Break: We’ve said before that a conference tournament run can’t blind you from what happened during the regular season

  • We just had the conversation earlier THIS WEEK about how even if Nebraska got on a run and won 3 games in the B1G Tournament, it shouldn’t take away the decision from Bill Moos on what to do with the basketball program going forward….did people believe that narrative going in, and if so, do they still feel that way?
  • It’s clear that Miles loves Nebraska and wants to be here, but it’s clear that this season was a disappointment, also. What gives? Are you blinded

Early Break: – What is going through Bill Moos’ head right now? could Nebrasketball dance without winning tournament?

  • Nebraska sits at 18-15 overall, and a win today against Wisconsin would get them a 19th win and 2 straight Quad 1 wins against ranked B1G teams. Hmmmmm…..that would be interesting when it comes to the actual NCAA Tournament…but maybe not that interesting
  • Moos wasn’t in attendance for the win against Maryland, as he is out in California for his son’s Spring Game…is that REALLY what was going on, though? Is there a chance that there is an agreement in principle with a coach? And how awkward could this get if the B1G Tourney run continues?

Early Break: Tim Miles and Nebrasketball WON’T DIE! Huskers beat Maryland, to move on to the B1G Tournament quarterfinals

  • Depleted roster and all, Miles’ squad was able to keep Bruno Fernando in check (1-4, 3 points), and it was another great game from James Palmer, Glynn Watson, Isaiah Roby…and, Johnny Trueblood
  • Of all the teams you could play in the quarterfinals, Wisconsin is definitely the team you’d prefer the most (compared to Purdue, Michigan, and Michigan State). Can the momentum keep going today? Can you still stay out of foul trouble and not have James Palmer’s legs fall off from playing so many minutes? What a wild time

Early Break: How can Nebraska’s defense properly prepare for B1G opponents?

  • The snow is driving Jake crazy
    • Please make it warm so there are no more sad/angry Jake rants about the weather
  • Barrett Ruud mentioned on Tuesday that it’s important for Nebraska to be able to stop power offenses to win in the B1G. Nebraska’s offense certainly has power, but it’s not known as a ‘power’ offense.
  • Can this defense truly get ready for B1G opponents based on what they see everyday in practice, which is a lot different than Wisconsin/Iowa/other B1G programs? Frost has said they are getting more weight and muscle on guys to prevent that from happening, but it’ll always be different when going against an offense unlike Nebraska’s, right? Will they ever truly be prepared for that?
  • Also, why in the hell is there a need for lawmakers to discuss a law to ban people from getting tattoos on their eyes? WHAT PERSON THINKS OF DOING THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE?

  • Is the casualness of this team fixable?
  • Is the B1G as good as people say i is this year or is it starting to mellow a bit?

Are we approaching a year and maybe multiple years where the B1G West is completely wide open and difficult to predict who comes out on top?

  • Wisconsin appears to have come back to Earth after a disappointing 7-5 season, and Iowa is good but not great, and Northwestern won it this year and has won 15 of 16 conference games somehow…while Nebraska appears to be back on the rise, as well as Purdue and Minnesota…how does this look next year and upcoming years?
  • You’d like to think that Nebraska is on the path to taking over the division sometime soon, but that might be wishful thinking. Is anyone going to take a stranglehold of the division or is it just going to be constant beating up on each other?
