Can Nebraska football regain a true home field advantage again? / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-Sip wrote about it because Bill Moos addressed the importance of it, and he is right. Nebraska fans fill up Memorial Stadium, but it hasn’t been a terribly tough place for opponents to win for a long time

If Adrian Martinez truly could has the chance to be the best QB in the B1G this year, does he still have NFL potential?

-Martinez had all the hype in the world after his freshman year, and was a Heisman preseason candidate before his 2nd season. Then the progression stopped and so did the hype

-When you look around the B1G, it’s possible to see that Martinez has the most POTENTIAL of any QB in the conference, but it’s all about achieving that potential and limiting turnovers and such. Do Husker fans still believe he has any sort of NFL future or does it all come down to a great year ahead?

ESPN.com’s post-spring Top 25 rankings for 2021 have Nebraska facing 4 Top 25 teams this upcoming year…what game is the most winnable/important for the Huskers?

-Oklahoma is No. 1 (!!) in the polls, with Ohio State at No. 5, Iowa at No. 14, and Wisconsin at No. 18. Nebraska plays the last 3 of those all in the month of November. Fun!

-What’s more telling about this poll is where some teams Nebraska should absolutely be in the same conversation as every year are ranked. Iowa State is 6th, Cincinnati is 9th, Indiana is 11th, Louisiana-Lafayette is 16th (!!), and Coastal Carolina is 21st. We saw these teams have success last year and the past few years, but it’s still stunning to see those numbers by them

Midway through the season, what is the best story in college football?

-Indiana is ranked 10th at 3-0, BYU is 8th at 8-0 and a stud QB, Liberty is 7-0 with 2 wins vs. ACC teams…

-What is the feeling of a Nebraska fan when they see ranked teams like Liberty, Coastal Carolina, Iowa State, Indiana, Marshall, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Northwestern, while you’re 0-2?

Erik Chinander isn’t the point of frustration through 2 games, can it stay that way?

-52 points against Ohio State obviously wasn’t great, nor was forcing only one incompletion against Justin Fields, but the defense has looked better in general, and wasn’t the problem against Northwestern, either

-Luke Reimer has looked great, as has Ty Robinson. The D-line has looked good in general…the DBs have looked OK, and the LBs have been better than they were last year. Are we seeing legitimate progress or too early to say?

-Post-practice Zoom audio from Wednesday…
