The Big Ten West seems deeper than in the past, but is the division still a ways away from getting a conference champion?

-The last team in the Big Ten West to win a conference title was Wisconsin in 2012—and that was back when it was the Legends and Leaders divisions, and not in the current way it is

-Wisconsin was close in 2017 to winning the conference and going to the playoff, but couldn’t get it done. They’ve been the most consistent program in the West…how close are they to taking down Ohio State in the title game or any other team consistently? Has anything changed at all besides the West seeming deeper than it’s felt in the past?
