Happer & Stephens: December 14th, 1pm

  • Who gets drafted from the Nebraska football team? What about in future drafts?
  • Chris Basnett, Lincoln Journal Star
  • Picks of Density

Tim Miles and Greg McDermott’s postgame comments were…..interesting

-McDermott said Nebraska played more desperate because of their loss to Minnesota—and the fact they had lost 7 straight games to Creighton. Arrogant man…but he’s not wrong

-Still not sure what happened on the double-technicals in first half on Miles and McDermott—neither of them would say what happened in postgame. How about that for bad blood? About time Miles can give McDermott a bad day

Nebrasketball takes on Southeastern Louisiana in game 2 at PBA…are they ready for Wednesday’s game against Seton Hall?

-Sorensen went to the game, what were the big takeaways? Put down a team that they should beat easily or any concerns as the Pirates of Seton Hall come into town for a tough early season non-conference game on Wednesday?

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY:

Happer & Stephens: November 8th, 12pm

  • Frost’s comments on how a gameplan comes together is a good representation of the culture they are working to build.
  • Mitch Sherman, ESPN
  • Bull or No Bull, brought to you by Buffalo Wings and Rings

National media seems to think Nebraska will contend to win the B1G as soon as next season, do you agree? / Shut Up Sipple

-Danny Kanell tweeted out that he thinks Nebraska will contend not just for their division, but the conference, by next year. Can we say that confidently after that game? Are we overreacting to the Ohio State game or is it justified? They do, no doubt, seem to be oozing with confidence and belief  right now

This goes back to the previous topic…if you beat Iowa to end the year, maybe you can have that belief…

Jovann Dewitt says there are personnel changes on the way on special teams…what can change to make you feel better about the unit?

-Replacement at the returner spots? Sounds like there was more emphasis in practice on special teams on Tuesday (thank goodness), and that Dewitt says there now needs to be more attention to the unit than there was at UCF

Hey, the weekend wasn’t a total loss—Husker volleyball does their thing and TIGER WOODS IS BACK, BABY

-We don’t talk much volleyball on this show but we can give them their fair due when they keep their winning ways up and beat Michigan and Michigan State both in 4 sets, respectively. We take their success for granted.

-Also, TIGER WOODS WON A DAMN GOLF TOURNAMENT!! Tour Championship goes to Tiger in resounding fashion.

-And, SONG OF THE DAY:

What will this football team look like going forward the rest of the season after an 0-2 start?

-Is this team going to win as many games as last year? What a horrible thing to ask but a fair thing to ask as they have already lost 2 games that we thought they’d win. Feels like there is almost a zero percent chance of a bowl game and its only mid-September. Unbelievable.

-So, when do we see the strides being made? This team needs to learn how to win again. Plain and simple. They have lost 6 straight games and 8 of their last 9. Even though this coaching staff won big last year, it doesn’t just change with the snap of a finger. They say they are bought in, and we believe them. But when do results happen?

The Cleveland Browns have joined with Bud Light to make fun of themselves in the coolest way possible

-We all know the Browns have sucked for a long time, but never as bad as the past 2 years; going 1-31. Just miserable. Bud Light, however, put coolers in 10 Cleveland bars, stocked full of Bud Light, that will automatically unlock when the Browns win their first game. Cool or lame?

New NCAA rules in play gives ‘elite’ high school basketball players the ability to have an agent but still go to go school if not drafted

-The NCAA announced Wednesday morning that any elite high school basketball player now is able to hire an agent but still is eligible to play college basketball if they aren’t drafted by the NBA..thoughts?

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY:

Do you believe Matt Davison can truly be partial in his commentary on Nebraska broadcasts this year? / Shut Up Sipple

-Davison is now a part of Frost’s administration but also will be still doing color commentary on broadcasts of football games. Will he be critical anymore of the team if things go poorly since he is associated with it more now?

Which recent recruiting miss was worse for Nebraska: Mike Daum or Noah Fant?

  • Daum is returning to South Dakota State for his senior season and is seen as a likely draft pick, probably in the 2nd round of the 2019 NBA Draft—he comes from Kimball, NE
  • Noah Fant comes from Omaha and is seen already by 2019 NFL Mock Drafts as a late 1st round pick or early 2nd round pick coming out of Iowa—oh yeah, and he had 11 TDs last year by the way
