It’s officially NFL Combine week…do you pay attention or follow it at all?

-It’s a week where players can really make some big leaps up in draft potential by impressing in different athletic achievements; and sometimes, can be elevated too high up the board because of how they perform in shorts and shirts instead of pads and helmets

Greg Austin says Cam Jurgens’ snap issues were largely because of “mental overload”…do you buy that? / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-There was a lot on the plate of Cam Jurgens last year, as a redshirt freshman who was thrusted into a starting role at center

-We all know the snaps were a problem for the first part of the year…was that really because he had too much to think about when playing? And do you think this is a resolved issue or not?

Is Nebraska’s depth (and multitude of options) along the offensive line the thing that makes you most confident in Frost’s program going forward?

-There’s still plenty of doubt from fans on what Year 3 will look like in 2020 for Frost and company, and that’s certainly valid. But, if you can look beyond that and think about what’s being built…are you starting to see that on the offensive line and believe that?

-What would help that notion, obviously, would be if you see the line take monumental leaps this upcoming season. All the way across from tackle to tackle. If you see weakness anywhere, there’s going to be doubt, even though some of the players are young. But is this unit where you look to for hope?

Tyson Fury licked blood off of Deontay Wilder in the big fight on Saturday night..what the hell was that?

-Fury defeated Wilder in the boxing heavyweight championship bout on Saturday night, but the big story was when he was seen licking blood off of Wilder that he caused with big hits earlier..what is wrong with this man? And would Jake ever let his future son compete in boxing?

Husker baseball has their moments, but aren’t finishing games….what are fans patience level?

-Nebraska had the big first inning in the first game of the season against Baylor that led to a win, but has now lost 5 straight games, and sits at 1-5 on the season. They lost all 3 games in San Diego this weekend, despite being in all of them until the very end. It’s not a bad team—they just aren’t winning yet

-What is fan’s patience level and what’s their interest level? Afraid to get too invested to get hurt like the other men’s programs this year?

How much of Nebrasketball’s issues in the second half are the fault of the players vs. the fault of the coaching staff?

-We know that fans are already past this season, but it’s something to monitor looking forward. Fred Hoiberg deserves all the patience and support that he’ll get, but does any part of you wonder if the Big 10 knows what’s coming in the second half from Nebraska? Why are there consistently adjustments made by opposing teams but the same issues for the Huskers? Hoiberg addressed it yesterday.

Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 3

-Nebrasketball hosts Michigan State tonight…are you paying attention at all to anything that happens with this team the rest of the year?

-How would you respond to a potential deep run for Creighton in the NCAA Tourney?

Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 2 / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-Jake ran a poll the other day (5,000+ votes) that asked who Nebraska fans wanted to be starting at QB for game 1 in 2020, and Adrian Martinez had 63% of the vote. Is that what you expect from the fanbase?

-Nebraska comes at No. 22 in ESPN’s FPI rankings for 2020…why?

Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 1

-Let’s get down to business—what’s the deal with Omar Manning and Zavier Betts and their situation with grades?

-Does Darien Chase’s transfer make it more likely that Nebraska pursues the transfer portal at WR or do you think they like their young guys enough still?

-Nebraska hires Jonathan Rutledge as special teams analyst…what exactly will he do?

The theme of Nebraska athletics for a while has been, “Next Year”—how far is that away, though?

-It’d be great to have all the sports do well at the same time. When’s the last time that happened, if ever? Football, basketball, baseball, volleyball…it’s not crazy to think it’s possible

-You can make strides to believing that ‘next year’ is close for things to come together in 2020-21. If Nebraska football can back up a preseason 22nd ranking and basketball can rise with the transfers that will play, then you feel good, especially if Will Bolt gets things going for baseball.

It’s time to start getting scared about Creighton and them possibly making some noise in the Dance

-It’s Sorensen’s worst nightmare, and also the same for Jaysker haters. Creighton has 2 Top 10 road wins this year and is playing some of the best basketball in the nation. In fact, yesterday, ESPN did a ‘if the bracket was revealed today’ article, and had Creighton facing Kansas in the national championship

-It will be even more glorious if Creighton falls on their faces this year with them playing so well, but it does seem like they might have something going. Is any part of you rooting for them or is the hatred stronger than normal?
