BDP Communications announced today it is relocating 93.7 FM, The Ticket, an all-sports digital platform and radio station and Lincoln’s REAL sports talk, from 330 N. 48th Street to 1040 O Street on the corner of 11th and O streets next spring. The move is driven by local owners Derrick and Rebecca Pearson’s vision to bring local sports closer to the community and invite the public to be a part of the action. The Pearsons purchased The Ticket last year and have grown its reach within the community and with Nebraska sports fans locally and around the country.
The Pearsons anticipate a hub of activity at the new location with a street level studio on O Street where fans can watch and listen, both inside and outside the building; a second dedicated podcast/production studio and offices for the broadcasting team; a coffee shop; a retail and event space for advertisers; and Beatrice Bakery retail on site.
“The move is expected to provide more visibility for local businesses, help attract new activity to the surrounding area, and restore vibrancy to this quaint, downtown location near hotels, housing and the university,” said Rebecca Pearson.
“We have experienced tremendous benefits and are excited to be able to grow with The Ticket and bring Grandma’s Fruitcake and our other products from Beatrice into the heart of Lincoln,” said Rick Meyer, President of Beatrice Bakery Company. Beatrice Bakery has been advertising with The Ticket since 2021.
93.7 The Ticket has an all-star lineup of current and former Husker players and journalists, and on weeknights is a platform for men’s and women’s student-athlete shows with a full range of sports.
“This community loves its sports. We wanted to find a way to be closer to the action, highlight men’s and women’s sports more equally, and create dialogue that engages, educates, and entertains,” said Derrick Pearson. “Great communities make great people. Great people make great communities. What better way to achieve that than to be in the heart of Lincoln, investing in a historic part of the city in a historic building. We are closer to the university, new student housing, athletes, coaches, and educators. Our concept is community oriented and invites people in to encourage information sharing through open and honest conversations,” Derrick continued.
