Upon further review, Nebrasketball’s free throw performance on Sunday may have been the worst in college basketball HISTORY

-The Journal Star’s Chris Basnett went back to the 2010-11 season, and found that no D1 basketball team had ever shot worse than 32.4% from the FT line during a game. Nebraska shot 26.7%, and deservedly so, was mocked by national entities for it on Monday

-How exactly do you explain a Division 1 program going 8 for 30 on free throws in a single game?

-How excited should fans be about the future of Yvan Ouedraogo after another double-double performance?

-Should fans have any skepticism about Hoiberg’s coaching ability right now or not?

How serious should Nebraska coaches consider playing Luke McCaffrey at WR with the current situation?

-What a storyline for the spring and fall. It becomes less of a story if Manning and Betts make it to campus, or Nebraska gets 1 or 2 decent WRs from the transfer portal to play right away

-This seemed like a non-story before the Spielman/McQuitty news, but now it might have reason to have legs. And if that’s the case, you REALLLLLY need Martinez to have a full return to health and get back to his 2018 level of play or beyond

-Also, it feels inevitable now that Chris Hickman should probably move to WR…right?

How hard is it to have a normal, non-chaotic offseason for once in football?

-It’s the case a lot of places, so it’s probably not just a Nebraska thing—but it just feels like there’s always something crazy or alarming that happens in the offseason for the Huskers, with personnel or coaching changes of some regard

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY (sponsored by Sartor Hamann Jewelers):

Rick Kaczenski (Former Nebraska/Iowa DL coach)

-Khalil Davis had a fantastic Combine performance…you recruited him…can he be a long-term NFL guy?

-How should Husker fans feel about a WR position that is down 2 more players, including their best WR from last year?

-How hard is it to get young defensive linemen ready to play significant snaps for the season?

An area of concern officially goes to red alert: J.D. Spielman takes a leave of absence from Nebraska football for mental health

-Oh boy. If you weren’t nervous about the WR group already, now you’re probably terrified. Spielman has been consistently very good in his 3 seasons with Nebraska, and although he’s not officially off the team, he won’t be at Spring football for sure, and then we’ll see if anything changes

-Jaevon McQuitty also announced he’s retiring from football, so there’s 2 receivers down in a day, and already concerns if guys like Omar Manning and Zavier Betts will make it to campus with concerns about grades
