Discussing ways to improve the spring game

-Tying up last segment’s discussion on Kobe King.

-The Journal Star reported that spring game tickets are being bought, but not quite at the rate of previous years. We’ve already addressed questions about level of interest here in the spring game this year, in general

-Would it ever be possible to have a spring exhibition against another team? Would that be of interest to the fans and other schools? One definite negative would be that someone would have to travel here, which takes away their spring game…but maybe look at schools that aren’t drawing well for their own spring practice/game?

Former Wisconsin basketball player Kobe King’s case for transfer brings more murkiness to the current landscape in college sports

Remember Justin Fields from Georgia when he left to transfer to Ohio State? He claimed there were racial slurs against him that made him uncomfortable, and was granted immediate eligibility with the Buckeyes. Kobe King from Wisconsin is alleging the same thing, which could qualify him to play somewhere right away next year. These things very well could have happened, but if you keep seeing this as the reason why players are leaving, it’s going to get pretty obvious what’s going on…right?

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY (sponsored by Sartor Hamann Jewelers):

Boston College’s Jeff Hafley is allowing reporters into the locker room right after games next season…do you wish we had that access here or not?

-It’s something you see in professional sports, but not often in college sports. Are you surprised Hafley wants this allowed or not?

-How much would it change things if Nebraska allowed media access to the locker room vs. not at all? There’s a chance you hear some raw emotions that you don’t always hear once players get to the hallway or’s also not giving them much space to calm down after a game and regroup.
