Archives for November 2019

Sean Callahan (Husker Online)

-Sean was doing sidelines for NET for state football the past 2 days…what were the best stories?

-Do we expect to see plenty of Luke McCaffrey at WR on Friday with no Kanawai Noa and potentially no Wan’Dale Robinson?

-Nebraska’s been running the ball better the past few games…can they continue that against a stout Iowa defense?

How much can Nebraska’s defensive performance on Saturday against Maryland translate into success against Iowa on Friday?

-Nebraska recovered 3 fumbles against the Terrapins and were fantastic on 3rd and 4th downs, which hasn’t always been the case this season. Was that ALL because Maryland sucks, or was it because Nebraska figured something out to close out the year?

-Also, Nebrasketball played George Mason last night in the Cayman Islands…what were the takeaways?

Greg Schiano apparently wanted 8 years, $32 million from Rutgers to coach there, and to no one’s surprise, it’s not happening

– That was the reported figure that Schiano wanted, as well as new facilities and upgrades everywhere, to make Schiano come back. Yeah right, guy. The school would never get the attendance numbers even with him around to pay that kind of money and commit to those kinds of upgrades. It’s just time for Rutgers to leave the conference.

-Being undersized is one thing, but should Nebraska ever be outrebounded by large margins against teams like Southern and UC-Riverside?

– Hunter Sallis gets an offer from Kansas… how hard is it going to be to keep him in state?

Nebraska should be hungrier team on Friday against Iowa… will that show or not?

– Iowa can’t win the Big Ten West, has beaten Nebraska 4 straight times, and is already bowl-eligible. They might not like Nebraska, bu they have pretty much nothing to prove or play for in this game beyond pride in having a potential 5 game winning streak against their border ‘rivals’

-Collin Miller said yesterday that he doesn’t think Iowa respects Nebraska, and others have echoed that sentiment. Is there any way that Nebraska can come out flat in this game and not show up?
