Nebrasketball takes on Washington State tonight in the Cayman Islands…what do we expect from them in this tourney?

-As we discussed earlier in the show, Nebraska did beat Southern in OT on Friday, but that’s not a team you should ever really be going to OT against. They’ll play Wazzu (a team that lost to Nebraska-Omaha last week) tonight at 6:30pm, and either George Mason or Old Dominion on Tuesday

Where has Matt Waldoch been this whole season? / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

-The game was never in question and never really came down to him having to be clutch, but the former club soccer player and walk-on kicker this year was excellent on Saturday, making three 29-yard FGs, and all of his XPs….keep in mind, the placekickers this year were 7-15 coming in

-Barret Pickering missed most of the year with a leg injury and missed the game in concussion protocol…did he just lose his job?

It is officially Iowa Hate Week…how do you feel about Nebraska’s chances to end the 4-game skid to the Hawkeyes and get to a bowl game?

-The weight is off the shoulders of (potentially) having a 6-game losing skid to end the season, thanks to the domination of hapless Maryland on Saturday. Now, can they end another 4-game skid on Friday, and get bowl-eligible with a win against Iowa?

-4 years ago, Nebraska hosted Iowa with a 5-6 record and lost, but still made a bowl game because of their high APR and not enough teams having 6 wins to play in a bowl. That’s the case again this year (32 teams eligible for 40 spots), but Nebraska’s APR isn’t high enough to get a spot with 5 wins…so it’s win this game or bust. Iowa beat Illinois, 19-10, on Saturday, but didn’t look particularly impressive in doing so

Our second installment of ‘Did Jake Deserve That’ comes from Friday night’s Nebrasketball game

-Nebrasketball survived SWAC cellar-dwellar Southern University on Friday night, 93-86, in OT, after Southern missed 2 shots at the end of regulation that would have won the game. Jake had a snarky tweet that got some pretty damn harsh responses…let’s read these…did he deserve that?

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY (sponsored by Sartor Hamann Jewelers):

We finally got a good taste of Luke McCaffrey and Rahmir Johnson, and fans are wanting more of that

-How about the young guys in this game? Nebraska was without Wan’Dale Robinson and Kanawai Noa at WR because of injuries, so we saw McCaffrey warm up with the WRs in pregame, and eventually get significant playing time at the spot, getting one catch for 12 yards, while later on taking reps at QB and showing great running prowess and throwing ability

-And Rahmir Johnson? They actually gave him a chance! And he looked….pretty smooth! 18 carries, 55 yards, and one catch for 12 yards.
