Nebraska basketball loses to Southern Utah, starts 0-2

Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa look like franchise QBs in this draft…and Jake is sad because his Dolphins probably won’t get either

Burrow looked better in the game, but Tua still looked good in the second half. Yet, Jake is sad because his Dolphins won their 2nd straight game, and look like they won’t have a chance to get either QB. THAT’S. SO. DOLPHINS.

Nebrasketball loses to Southern Utah in 2 OTs to fall to 0-2 for the first time since 1987-88 / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe)

  • Yep, that happened again. Nebraska led for 37 minutes in the game, but couldn’t close with free throws again, and despite a Jervay Green 3-pointer to force OT at the end of regulation, Nebraska couldn’t get the bucket it needed in the overtime periods to win. And now they’ve lost 2 ‘bye’ games. Yikes.
  • So….let’s dive into what Cary Cochran said earlier. What sticks out that Nebraska can build off of?

Scott Frost isn’t sleeping well with where Nebraska’s at right now…will anything over the final 3 games help at all?

  • Sip sat down with Frost at length last week and wrote about it, as Frost mentioned that he has no thoughts about changing his staff because he believes they’re all going to get it done here….but also mentioned that he doesn’t deal well with guys who don’t have an urgency to win at all costs, in terms of players
  • How can the staff find answers in the next 3 games to have something to build on heading into 2020? How crippling could 3 losses following the bye be; and how beneficial could winning 2 of 3 to get to a bowl game be?

Let’s give some more props to Lovie Smith and Illinois, who are BOWL-ELIGIBLE

  • And it wasn’t exactly easy for the Illini—they trailed 28-3 at one point, and 31-10 entering the 4th quarter AT Michigan State….and ended up winning, 37-34, to become bowl-eligible. Simply awesome. Also….Northwestern falls to 1-8…and Indiana is RANKED!

Cary Cochran (Former Nebrasketball shooting guard)

  • Nebrasketball loses its first 2 games to ‘bye’ opponents UC-Riverside and Southern Utah…how would you calm the masses who are panicking right now?
  • How long does it truly take for a team to come together? These guys are still all brand new to each other. But you thought the talent would still be good enough to beat these types of teams…
  • Can Fred Hoiberg’s offensive style win in the Big Ten down the road? What’s the key to success?
