There’s a new leader for good quotes for Nebraska football…and he’s a true freshman

Garrett Nelson, freshman outside linebacker from Scottsbluff, delivered some quotes yesterday, including a story about a torn-off fingernail, being so nervous he thinks about throwing up in helmets, and also his view of the Colorado-Nebraska rivalry being so close to the border growing up

Are you concerned about Nebraska’s offense after the South Alabama game, or convinced it was just a game of knocking rust off?

-Blackshirts defense looked good with 5 forced turnovers…believe they’re much improved or still ‘wait and see’ vs. a better Colorado team this week?

-What are you expecting for Nebraska this weekend? Revenge or another loss to Colorado?

Nebraska’s defense carried the way on Saturday…can they do the same against Colorado and Laviska Shenault?

Nebraska forced 5 turnovers, and had big sacks from Lamar Jackson and Cam Taylor that resulted in big fumbles—the ladder being a fumble recovery by Alex Davis in the end zone for a TD, early 3rd Q

-The unit definitely looked better on Saturday, but we don’t know how bad South Alabama is going to be this season…what did we learn on Saturday and what can be applied going forward?

-Also, good and bad on special teams: awesome PR TD for Spielman, but also muffed punt; and missed FG for Jorgensen (hurry back, Pickering)

Nebraska fans might not be thrilled with Saturday’s performance, but at least they didn’t pay almost $1 million to Georgia State…and lose

That’s what Tennessee did on Saturday, losing 38-30 (aided by a last second TD, or else it would have been double-digit loss)…NOT GOOD. Also, what other impressions can we make from Week 1 of college football? Jalen Hurts looked good….so did Justin Fields…who else?

Cam Jurgens had major issues with high snaps on Saturday, and the offensive line was lackluster in general…will they figure it out or is that a concern now?

We heard from Frost, Martinez, Matt Farniok, and others about the offensive line performance, and the high snaps were certainly a point of emphasis. This offense goes so fast that timing is everything, and when the QB is concerned about a high snap, that affects both confidence and also performance

-How concerned are you about the line? What happens if high snaps are a problem again this week?
