Big 12 Media Days recap: Les Miles sounds confused, and Lincoln Riley isn’t guaranteeing a starting job for Jalen Hurts

-Miles was asked about Kansas’ decision to reinstate star RB Pooka Williams, who is dealing with misdemeanor domestic battery, and he said he agreed with the decision, but said so in odd form

-Also, Lincoln Riley says Jalen Hurts has to win the job still at Oklahoma…that’d be funny to see him lose it

Robin Washut (Husker Online) / Shut Up Sipple

-Jon Rothstein lists Nebraska as this year’s biggest sleeper in the Big Ten conference, but also puts them at 12th in his early projections…does that sound about right?

-Practice started yesterday ahead of Nebrasketball’s Italy trip…how long will it take for chemistry to build with a completely new roster?

-James Palmer, Jr. had a good Summer League for the Suns, any chance he gets a contract with them?

How important is it, in all sports, to keep High School talent in the state?

-Jake/Sip discuss the importance of getting in-state basketball talent compared to football.

-Former Nebraska-Wesleyan coach Jerry Schmutte calls in with his thoughts.

Three Millard North basketball players now have Division 1 offers…has that team become appointment viewing now?

-Jake and Sip both showed up last year to a Creighton Prep/Lincoln North Star game to watch Akol Arop play Donovan Williams—2 Nebraska signees. Now there are 3 players from one high school that are considered Division 1 worthy…are they worth the trip up to Millard to watch?

-Also, SONG OF THE DAY:

Jon Rothstein lists Nebrasketball as the biggest sleeper this year in the Big Ten…what is your belief of what they’ll be?

-In Rothstein’s list of sleeper/under-the-radar transfers in the conference, he mentioned 4 of the 5 being Nebrasketball players. Yeah, sounds about right. It’s a wild card year, and that’s why Sorensen isn’t convinced about saying they’ll be a 14-win team like a certain Mike Schaefer might say…what about Sip?
