Early Break: Isaiah Roby announces he’s entered the NBA Draft but won’t hire an agent yet

  • Roby would probably be crazy to leave before a year of Hoiberg, who could turn him into a potential NBA lottery pick….Donovan Williams said he’s thrilled with the hire, and Jervay Green seems pleased, too…who else might follow Hoiberg? Any aces in the hole for recruiting?

Early Break: Is there a university out there with as formidable of a 1-2 punch in football and basketball than Nebraska

  • Life comes at you fast—Nebraska all of a sudden is at the top, there. Others in conversation? Dantonio/Izzo (Michigan State); Harbaugh/Beilein (Michigan); then who? Malzahn/Pearl (Auburn)?
  • Shut up Sipple

Early Break: Are fans prepared to live in a world where it’s a surprise when they DON’T make the NCAA Tournament?

  • Your head basketball coach is now the 11th highest-paid coach in college hoops, so the expectations are going to be high. Even with seeing Auburn and Texas Tech in the Final 4, that’s still not the goal for a while here…but it’s going to be disappointing if they aren’t in the Dance more than not
  • Let’s ask the listeners what they have for a goal now for Hoiberg and his program….and do some deep thinking about how special this place could be in both sports in a few years…wow

Early Break: Jake was a groupie for Switchfoot this past weekend….is he an idiot or is that actually kind of cool?

  • Jake went to the concert in Omaha on Thursday, then decided last-minute to go to the concert in Kansas City…and then decided again to drive 8.5 more hours from KC to Denver for a third concert…cool or dumb?
  • Also, SONG OF THE DAY: “Every Morning”- Sugar Ray

Early Break: The Final Four is set, and it’s a perfect example of why Nebraska fans should be optimistic about a quick turnaround

  • Texas Tech, Michigan State, Auburn, and Virginia are your Final 4. Why be optimistic for Nebraska? 4 years ago, Texas Tech was 13-19. 3 years ago, Auburn was 11-20. Yet they got the right coaches and now are both one game away from playing for a national championship. They made the commitment that Nebraska is making now at non-blue blood schools.
  • For the national analysts out there who said Nebraska couldn’t do better than Tim Miles—and heck, even for fans locally who said that—this is a wake-up call that Nebraska isn’t messing around and is all-in on becoming relevant in basketball
