Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 2

A texter says that Sister Hazel is the Mike Riley of the 90s….who would Sip, Schaefer and Jake describe as the band that’s the Mike Riley of the 90s? And what about Scott Frost?

Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated) / Shut Up Sipple

  • What would you rather have in 2019: Nebrasketball’s first ever NCAA Tournament win, or a Husker football division title? Why?
  • Is Schaefer ready to unveil his Super 6 for the 2019 class yet or does he need to wait until February? Who else might be added (if anyone) for the February signing day?
  • Update on Dedrick Mills?

Does Scott Frost have 100% buy-in as he goes into Year 2 or is there still much to prove for him with his team?

  • We heard of mega gains in the weight room last year before Nebraska’s first season under Frost, and there were some notable changes in figures with players…yet they still seemed soft in games and began 0-6 on the season. They finished 4-2 in the final 6 games to get to 4-8 and some players have moved on…is there still more to come or is this a roster that’s completely bought in?
  • Is it fair to wonder if there is still some lack of buy-in because the team had the same record for 2 years in a row? Finished stronger in 2018 certainly, but still started 0-6….

MAILBAGGGG!!!!! Your questions, our answers

Are we still OK with players skipping bowl games to prepare for the Draft, or were we ever OK with it?

  • Yesterday, a bowl game (First Responders Bowl in Dallas) was canceled because of bad weather…and many joked that now even bowl games can skip out on their games
  • But in reality, it seems each year that more and more players are opting to skip their bowl games to avoid injury and prepare for the Combine/Draft….are you down with it or not about it?
