  • Steve Sipple, Lincoln Journal Star
  • The Blog Jog, brought to you by Barney Insurance

Do you strip your fandom of a franchise when they leave your city?

  • The Raiders beat Denver on Monday in what could be their final game in Oakland as their 2019 plans are up in the air still before they head to Las Vegas in 2020…for those who have been Oakland Raiders fans, do you continue to follow the franchise?
  • Consider this: The Houston Oilers left for Tennessee in the late 90s, so how many fans in Houston are still Titans fans vs. now being Texans fans?

Nebrasketball still looking for respect as they move to 10-2 but still sit outside the AP Top 25 / Shut Up Sipple

  • Nebraska looked uninterested at times but still pummeled Cal State-Fullerton, 86-62, on Saturday, yet even at 10-2 and big wins over Creighton, Oklahoma State and Seton Hall, they remain just outside the AP Top 25. What gives? Are pollsters afraid of another Nebraska letdown?
  • Even our friend Andy Katz had Nebraska outside his most recent Top 36…though he explained he still does expect Tim Miles’ team to make the Dance and win at least one game

You have one choice for 2019: Nebrasketball gets their first ever NCAA Tournament game (and possibly more), or Nebraska football wins their division. What do you choose?

  • Jake is probably by himself on this one for Nebrasketball, because it’s his true love for Husker sports. But the conference title doesn’t come guaranteed for football with the division title, and it would no doubt be a tough game against Ohio State/Michigan/Penn State
  • This is obviously a football state, but think about how bright the future is beyond this year for football even if they don’t win the division this season

Urban Meyer to become Ohio State assistant AD following bowl game….and will also teach a class called ‘Leadership and Character’

Why, why, WHY Urban? This seems like a PR nightmare for him and Ohio State, at least the teaching course. His integrity has been questioned a lot this year, and now he teaches a class about it….interesting.

  • 41 percent of Nebraska’s roster in 2019 will be redshirt freshmen or true freshmen…can Nebraska truly be ‘dangerous’ in year 2 as Frost said they might be with so much inexperience?
  • Who from this class that Nebraska has signed to you expect to be an early contributor?
  • How many more signees do we expect in February?
