  • Man of the weekend

Purdue got steamrolled at Minnesota on Saturday and Sorensen thinks he knows why

-In what was probably the biggest stunner of the weekend in the B1G, Minnesota led 41-3 at home against Purdue—after losing to Illinois, 55-31, last week—and ended up winning the game 41-10. How could this happen? Was Purdue…not prepared?

-THAT’S QUITE POSSIBLE—Louisville’s Bobby Petrino was fired early Sunday morning, leaving  Sorensen to wonder if perhaps Jeff Brohm’s focus for the latter part of last week was in conversations about a possible contract with Louisville…hmmmmm……

Tony Davis (Former Husker RB) / Shut Up Sipple

-Is Devine Ozigbo an NFL running back?

-Do you expect Nebraska to win the next 2 games? Does Northwestern’s division victory give you more confidence in Nebraska’s chance of winning the division sooner rather than later?

Are Nebraska fans expecting to beat both Michigan State AND Iowa now…and are they wrong for thinking they should?

-Michigan State and Iowa are both officially out of the race to with their respective divisions, so there’s not much to play for except for just getting the best record that they can. Nebraska, meanwhile, is trying to send a message to the rest of the B1G that they are not to be messed with going forward, and want to make some noise to end the year, currently riding a nice 3-of-4 win streak

-Michigan State’s offense was once again hideous against Ohio State, scoring only 6 points in the game—the same defense that Nebraska scored 31 points against. Their offense doesn’t scare anyone…don’t you expect Nebraska to win that? A chance for the Huskers to prove that their high-flying offense is real against a very good defense. Same goes for Iowa…3 game losing streak, not much to play for, and an up-and-down offense. Nebraska wants to exercise some demons, and just might do that in Iowa City

Nebrasketball takes on Southeastern Louisiana in game 2 at PBA…are they ready for Wednesday’s game against Seton Hall?

-Sorensen went to the game, what were the big takeaways? Put down a team that they should beat easily or any concerns as the Pirates of Seton Hall come into town for a tough early season non-conference game on Wednesday?

Some way, somehow, Northwestern is your 2018 B1G West Champion…how did we let this happen?

-The Wildcats, combined with their 14-10 win over Iowa; Wisconsin’s 22-10 loss to Penn State; and Purdue’s baffling 41-10 loss to Minnesota, are the B1G West champions, with still 2 games to go in league play. Simply stunning. 0-3 in non-conference games (Notre Dame, Duke, Akron), and 6-1 in league play—and their one loss should have been a win! (Led Michigan 17-0 before losing 20-17). Crap on Northwestern all you want, but they somehow get the job done

-Doesn’t their win of the division title make you feel like Nebraska should win the damn thing next year? Or is that too boastful for a team that’s currently 3-7? One thing is for sure—Nebraska is kicking themselves for poor early season play for what truly was a division for the taking
