June 23rd: What to expect today at B1G Media Days and important times to watch…

  • Scott Frost will follow Jim Delaney and be the first coach to speak at noon, on the dot…making a big splash off the bat! How much national attention will Frost’s conference get?
  • Frost might mention the addition of new director of performance nutrition Dave Ellis, as well as Ron Brown’s addition…

June 23rd: Does a return to the past automatically mean that things will be like they were for Nebraska?

  • Of course, it’s crazy to expect national titles nowadays—but Nebraska last week re-hired Ron Brown to the staff as director of player development, and also hired Dave Ellis, who in the 90s was the director of performance nutrition and will do so again now with the current staff
  • These names get fans all giddy to think that a return to prominence is inevitable, but will their message remain the same with current players? Do you hope they bring more previous people from the past back? Hell, why not give Charlie McBride a call?

June 23rd: A national sportswriter says that B1G coaches are telling him that Nebrasketball has the best returning roster in the conference….how do they address depth?

FanRag Sports’ Jon Rothstein tweeted that on Saturday, which got lots of people’s attention in this state, as it should have. Do you believe that? You simply can’t avoid the amount of issues there are with depth beyond the starters…

June 23rd: Tiger Woods holds final round lead in British Open, but Francesco Molinari takes the title—is Woods back?

  • What an amazing time it was as Woods held the solo lead in the Open on Sunday as he took the 10th tee. He finished 3 back at 5-under, but the world was capitivated as Tiger was ahead of Spieth, McIlroy, Rose, and more….how good was that tournament?!

June 23rd: Is it really ever possible to emphasize ‘progress’ over a win total for a season?

An interesting look-back in time revealed an article from the World-Herald from this exact week in 2003, with then A.D. Steve Pederson saying that regarding the upcoming season for Frank Solich (who was fresh off of a 7-7 season), the administration would be emphasizing progress over win total. Is that a bunch of B.S.? It seems how things will go this year, but don’t Nebraskans always emphasize win total
