July 3rd: Lane Kiffin signed a 10-year extension with Florida Atlantic last Friday…how long will he actually be there for?

-Kiffin has been signed through 2027 now, which is an insane contract in sports for any level of sport….buyout info is not clear but still, that’s a lot of years. Should Nebraska try and ink Frost to a 10-year deal after his first great season? Would he even agree to that?

July 3rd: Robin Washut (Husker Online) / Shut Up Sipple

-Let’s look at the NBA really quick—what’s the point of the season right now with Boogie Cousins going to Golden State to join forces with more All-Stars? Does the NBA have a problem?

-What do you think will happen with Tyronn Lue in Cleveland? And is this now the time to assess if he is a good coach or not? Look at Erik Spoelstra in Miami to compare…

July 3rd: Is a sport at it’s best or worst when there is a dynasty ruling it?

-This is not just the NBA and Golden State; it’s been with Alabama in college football, it was UCLA in the past in college basketball; the Patriots in the NFL; the Yankees in the past in MLB…does a dominant dynasty make you more likely to watch a respective sport or less likely?

-Does the NBA really compel you right now with what seems to be only 5 or 6 teams that legitimately have a shot at competing for a title? And maybe less teams that that, honestly?

July 3rd: LeBron James doesn’t seem to be a great GM

-The Lakers, after adding LeBron, added Javale McGee, Rajon Rondo, and Lance Stephenson to their roster, while Boogie Cousins went to Golden State and Paul George stayed in OKC…should Kawai Leonard really still want to go to L.A.?

July 3rd: Scary injury news for Nebrasketball reminds us of why it’s dangerous to lay out major expectations for season long before it happens

-The World-Herald reported that Isaiah Roby left practice in crutches after jamming his heal, and that Jordy Tshimanga got banged up but should return soon…for those of us (many) who have said it’s NCAA Tournament or bust for Miles this year, how much room do you leave for injuries?

July 3rd: B1G ADs are attempting to get a national college injury report…will they get their way and it is something that’s needed?

-CBS Sports reported that, in response to the Supreme Court allowing the legalization of sports gambling, that an injury report needs to be filed for all college teams to avoid any sort of issues with ‘fixing games’ and what not

-Is this something that should be happening regardless of the gambling component or not? Jim Harbaugh likely won’t be a fan, as he is known to keep his injuries and depth chart secretive…how accurate would the reports need to be?
