May 1st: Is it good or bad for an expansion team in its first year to be the best team in its sport?

-The Las Vegas Golden Knights had the best record in the NHL this year in its expansion season—drawing massive crowds in Vegas and are in the 2nd round of the playoffs (against San Jose)

-Do you like an expansion team to earn its stripes and go through bumps and bruises like the Houston Texans did in the NHL? Or are you cool with the ‘new guys’ finding immediate success?

May 1st: Robin Washut (Husker Online) / Shut Up Sipple

-What do we know about Armon Gates and why would he leave Florida after only a few weeks to go to Nebraska?

-What kind of player is Nebraska getting in Dachon Burke?

-How safe is Tim Miles beyond this upcoming season?

May 1st: Is Nebraska’s lack of success in the draft the ultimate pitch for Scott Frost to current players to buy in early and work hard?

-One 5th round pick and one 6th round pick drafted by Nebraska is not just embarrassing to the fans—it’s embarrassing to the players who came to Nebraska, many with high accolades, and nothing to show for it

-If you’re Scott Frost, don’t you show the team the past recruiting rankings compared to the likes of the other teams in the division and show them how far behind they are, when their talent says otherwise? One might think that could be the easiest way to fire the guys up. They have every bit the talent as the teams beating them in the division, but they aren’t working as hard, apparently

May 1st: One last trip down Bookie Radley-Hiles memory lane—he had one hell of a spring at Oklahoma

-Bookie made 4 tackles in the Spring Game and was said to be all over the field and certainly one of the more notable players on a very solid defense…how much will fans still track him and his success going forward?

May 1st: 2019 NFL Mock Drafts are already out…and Northwestern’s Clayton Thorson is seen as a top 10 pick by many…do people watch football?

-First of all, he got hurt last season. So there’s that. But also, do you actually see a potential NFL QB in him? Before anyone laughs, we must realize that he’s probably been better in college than Trevor Semien was, who ended up being a late draft pick by the Broncos and starting a season in Denver. So there must be some NFL potential in Northwestern QBs…

-Feels like the Mitch Leidner thing a couple of years ago. He was being called a first round pick the day after the draft ended. Ludicrous!
