April 12th: Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 3

-Lots of Spring Game cancellations because of bad weather….Nebraska’s weather looks OK so far for next week, but if it was this weekend with the forecast…would they cancel the game with so many tickets sold? Or tell people to buck up and deal with cold and snow? Fascinating question to think about

April 12th: Thomas Grayson (New 2019 Nebraska RB commit) / Shut Up Sipple

-What made you want to commit to Scott Frost and so early in the recruiting process?

-Do you feel like you’re a little bit under the radar? Do you look at star rankings and where you’re at? What are your strengths as a player?

-What’s the appeal of Scott Frost’s type of offense to you?

April 12th: Mike Schaefer (247 Sports/Huskers Illustrated): Part 1

-Thomas Grayson joins us next segment—what do we know about him now, though? Any trepidations about a 2-star ranking?

-What was biggest takeaway for you in media session with the QBs on Tuesday? Any concern about Patrick O’Brien not showing up to media availability?

-Is Nebraska making up some ground on Chris Hickman and Nick Henrich? And what happened with Max Duggan?

April 12th: TV reporter gets in fight with another TV reporter covering Brewers baseball…has Sip ever encountered that?

-Sorensen remembers a Twitter spat that Sip had many years ago with Dirk Chatelain of the World-Herald, but that’s just Twitter—was Sip ever in any close encounters in the actual same area with any reporters who ever had a beef with each other?

April 12th: Will fans be more understanding than normal if a player like Patrick O’Brien transfers now that Scott Frost is in charge?

-Everytime a player transferred in the past at a key position, it created a storm of people pissed off and doubting the coach who ‘let him go.’ Scott Frost seems to know what he’s doing, so even though O’Brien was a 4-star QB and played last year, would there be as much negativity around the situation as guys who have left before?

April 12th: Scott Frost seems to understand recruiting better than Mike Riley ever did

-Frost was on his first teleconference yesterday discussing a variety of things, including his thoughts on official visits in the Spring and also in May/June, and he said he still wouldn’t really attack it that much, because it’s hard to keep kids committed for that long

-Why did Mike Riley never learn this? His goal was to have players all committed by June, and Bo Pelini wanted that to a certain extent, too—but it never happened. Do you really think that recruits will stay committed that long if they say they’re going to Nebraska during the Spring Game or in the summer? There’s still a whole season to play, and other big schools will come after them, too…
