December 19th: Does Nebraska have reason to worry about losing JUCO WR commit Jaron Woodyard already?

-The speedy WR from Arizona Western JUCO apparently had a good visit with Tennessee and is considering going there…welcome to the goofy season that is recruiting! As Fred Hoiberg once said, “I f***ing HATE recruiting”

-Can you imagine being a coach this time of year and see all the flip-flopping of recruits? What a pain in the butt

December 19th: Brent Wagner (Lincoln Journal Star) / Shut Up Sipple

-How exactly do you explain how Nebraska found a way to win a national title in volleyball, in what was supposed to be a rebuild year?

-Is this John Cook’s best coaching job of his life? He has 4 national titles, but this was probably the least expected…and gave Penn State their only 2 losses of the whole year

December 19th: Nebraska has the National Football Coach of the Year and (likely) the National Volleyball Coach of the Year entering 2018…does that cause other programs to elevate their levels?

-It’s not just the Scott Frost Effect…it’s the John Cook Effect, too, for winning 2 national titles in 3 years…if you’re Tim Miles/Darin Erstad/Amy Williams/others, you take note that Nebraska’s programs are on the uptick and you want to do anything possible to join that, right?

-University programs always have a sense of pride, but this month has brought an entirely new sense of pride for Husker athletics, and with the unity that the fanbase and state feels, is it possible that all the programs can elevate their play to also get on the uptick?

December 19th: More Nebrasketball talk and Song of the Day

December 19th: Are you in NCAA Tournament-or-bust mode through 12 games for Nebrasketball?

-The belief seems to be high with the team despite a 7-5 record, but it’s important to not stub your toe against lesser teams the next few games and get the ‘gimmie’ wins on your schedule

-We said yesterday that the B1G is not as good as it has been, but that’s not to say the league is BAD..there are still some good wins and records out there…it’s just weird to see Wisconsin doing so poorly
