  • Patrick O’Brien put together an admirable performance in an impossible situation.

November 13th: What exactly can Mike Riley say at today’s press conference?

-His message is dead. No one believes. No media, no assistant coach, no player, no one. Why should he even talk today? What’s the excuse this time?

November 13th: Nebrasketball wins a nail-biter against Eastern Illinois…reasons for concern? / Shut Up Sipple

-Huskers struggled from free throw line, and held on to beat EIU (from the Ohio Valley Conference) 72-68, in a game where Nebraska didn’t really look like they were a much better team than their opponent

-James Palmer didn’t have a great game, but Glynn Watson was clutch from the line…and how about Isaiah Roby to the rescue…maybe he still is the X-Factor for success this year

November 13th: Will we see any effort the rest of the year from Nebraska, and will fans even show up for the Iowa game?

-You just gave up 409 yards and 54 points to Minnesota, and now travel to Penn State to face Saquon Barkley, Trace McSorley and company….which could result in yet another embarrassing loss with record numbers against you….one caller called the postgame show and said Nebraska should FORFEIT the game

-It is pretty much inevitable that this team will end up at 4-8, the worst record since 1961 (3-6, the last year of William Jennings as head coach, before Bob Devaney took over)

November 13th: Wisconsin holds Iowa to 44 total yards (!!) in a 38-14 win, and how about the Miami Hurricanes?

-What a strange week in college football: (1) Georgia falls to (10) Auburn; Alabama nearly loses to Mississippi State; (3) Notre Dame gets BLASTED by (7) Miami; and Wisconsin murders Iowa

November 13th: Another domino falls in head coaching ranks as Butch Jones is fired at Tennessee; will Bill Moos change his mind and let Mike Riley go before the end of season?

-Jones had been on the hot seat since last year, and it just got warmer every week this year, and a 50-17 loss to Missouri on Saturday sealed his fate….Mike Riley had a similar embarrassing loss to a ‘lesser’ team…what’s the point of waiting at this point? No one to take the role?

-Why not give Trent Bray or a young coach like that a chance to fire the team up for 2 weeks? Build their resume for their next job? Mike Riley’s message is not being received. It’s over. Nothing left in the tank for this team
